Corporate Profile
History
Alutiiq, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Afognak Native Corporation (ANC). ANC was organized pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. Alutiiq, LLC (pronounced Ah-LOO-tick) is named after the Shareholders of ANC, the Alutiiq people who have inhabited the Kodiak Archipelago for over 7,500 years.
ANC initially chose to focus on the revenues that could be generated by its natural resources, primarily the harvesting of timber. In 1997 ANC began to evaluate new business development potentials as international timber markets were highly unstable in their returns. The decision was made to enter into the government services market and in 1999 Alutiiq, LLC was organized as the holding company for operating subsidiaries capable of utilizing the preferences provided through the Small Business Administrations 8(a) Business Development Program.
Today
Alutiiq has created, and successfully operates, several companies dedicated to providing qualified assistance in the areas of facilities operations, construction management, information technology, physical and electronic security, logistic support services and youth training. Our experienced personnel in conjunction with a select team of subcontractors are working worldwide.
